1. The service

Vessel Assistance ("the app") is software that helps ship officers keep records and prepare documents, and this website lets you create an account and download it. It is provided by Capt M.Magdy.

2. Your account

  • You must give a real e-mail address that you control and keep your password private.
  • An account is for one person and, at the moment, one computer. Do not share it.
  • We may suspend an account that is used abusively or against these terms.

3. Licence

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on your computer for your own work. You may not copy it for others, sell or rent it, remove the name "Vessel Assistance by Capt M.Magdy", or try to bypass its account or licence checks.

4. Early access and changes

The app is free during early access. We may introduce a paid yearly or monthly plan; we will announce the price and the date on this website and tell registered users before anything changes. We may update, change or stop features.

5. Your data and your responsibility

  • Your records are stored on your computer. You are responsible for keeping backups; the app makes automatic ones that you should also copy elsewhere.
  • The app is a helper. It does not replace the ship's official records, the Garbage Record Book, your logbooks, certificates or any statutory or company requirement. Check anything important against the official documents.
  • Documents the app prepares - handovers, letters, reports, CVs - must be checked by you before you sign or send them. The Nautical Institute and other bodies set their own current requirements.
  • The medical stores feature tracks stock only. It does not prescribe or suggest treatment; follow the ship's medical guide and professional advice.
  • AI suggestions can be wrong. Check them before you rely on them.

6. No warranty

The app and website are provided "as is". We work hard to make them reliable, but we do not promise that they will be error-free or always available, or that they are suitable for a particular purpose.

7. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of data or records, or for decisions made using the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Ending

You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may end or suspend your access if you break these terms.

9. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version, and we will say so on the site when something important changes. Questions: support@vesselassistance.org.
